It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.

Learning to be okay with being okay

Learning to be okay with not being okay

I’ve been a go getter as long as I can remember. Growing up, I didn’t have a whole lot of things handed to me, so I quickly learned that if I didn’t fight for it myself, things would never happen for me.

All the way to college, I did what was expected of me as the daughter of immigrant parents. I regularly helped with house chores, I got good grades, and I never really got myself into any kind of trouble. I even got a full ride scholarship to the University of Washington. After college was when I decided that I would pursue what I want to do and little did I know that I had a lot I wanted to do and try!

I got myself a full time job at a big company right out of college and from there, it was a time of self renewal. Long story short, this path led me to national pool competitions (I have 2 national titles), to being a blackjack dealer in Las Vegas, and ultimately starting a business of my own as a national pool league operator…. then came covid.

Covid ravaged my business, as it did many other businesses during this time. It was a time of uncertainty and an unbelievable amount of stress and this definitely took a toll on my body. That same year, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Let me repeat, I was an otherwise healthy 37 year old that had never even had a surgery her whole life, with cancer.

It’s going to be a whirlwind of a story to tell on how I went from exploring what the world had to offer to having cancer and now owning and operating a plant nursery in Las Vegas, but it’s a doozy and I’ll be happy to share.. just in time. So for now, just know me as Suzie (or Sue, or Susan, or Suzanne) the plant lover and business owner in Las Vegas. Thank you for reading. I’m excited to share more very soon.
